Choosing by occasion
A mehndi, a jago, a temple visit and a reception all ask for something different, and the mistake most people make is buying one very heavy outfit and wearing it to the wrong event.
Rough guide: lighter georgette and chiffon for daytime and dancing, silk and heavier embroidery for the main ceremony and reception, and simple cotton or rayon suits for everyday and religious visits. Blouses, falls and the parts nobody mentions
A saree is only as good as its blouse, and an unstitched blouse piece is not a blouse. We stitch blouses to measurement, add falls and pico finishing to saree edges, and adjust lehenga waists and lengths — the unglamorous work that decides whether an outfit looks expensive or homemade.
Sizes and fit
Indian sizing is inconsistent between labels, and ready-made pieces are usually cut long and loose on purpose so they can be taken in. Ignore the label and let us measure — it is faster than guessing, and the alteration is generally straightforward.
